Pocahontas State Park, Chesterfield, VA (8/99)

We didn't have any camping plans this weekend. I was looking forward to a weekend full of carpet cleaning and other honey-do's. Imagine my surprise Friday evening when my wife suggested a "spur of the moment" camping trip. Big decision - clean carpets or go camping?

By the time we finished packing and getting hitched up it was after 9:00 PM. We rolled into the campground around 1:00 AM and quickly grabbed a pull through site. Not until after we set up did we learn that the water hookup was out of service. Not a big deal, a quick trip to Wal-Mart the next day for a six gallon water jug and we were all set.

While visiting Pocahontas State Park, we traveled to Richmond on Saturday to see the Virginia Museum of Fine Art's "The Splendors of Ancient Egypt" exhibit, and "The Mysteries of Egypt" IMAX film at the Virginia Science Museum.

We spent most of Sunday at Pocahontas State Park's giant swimming pool.

Time exposure photograph of our Pocahontas State Park campsite on Saturday night. We had an enormous pull through site that was also equipped with a tent pad.
