Caterpillazilla!
We found this monster crossing a campground road while we were camping at Watermelon Park in Berryville, Virginia. He's a Hickory Horned Devil, and, though ours was a mere 5" long, they can reach about 7" in length (about as big as a typical hot dog) when fully grown.

Although Caterpillazilla is ferocious in appearance, he is actually quite harmless to us humans. The spikes are all show. They have a voracious appetite but rarely cause any significant damage to plant life.
